In the pantheon of “super heroes” The Green Hornet doesn’t exactly stand out as a particularly interesting or exciting hero. In fact I’d go so far as to suggest what has made him famous is more the fact his sidekick was once played by Bruce Lee. So it was I guess no surprise that the movie version of The Green Hornet wasn’t anything particularly interesting either. Given what they had to work with, it was a fair effort.
I thought maybe with someone like Michel Gondry at the helm he might give a nice visual spin to it, but aside from one action scene with a somewhat irrelevant but novel visual trick it’s an otherwise fairly standard looking film. 3D meanwhile does nothing for it.
