Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

I’ve never been a fan of the Tomb Raider game. As a concept it seems like a great idea, but in more recent times the Uncharted series has completely blown it away making it seem largely irrelevant. This game however really isn’t a Tomb Raider game, it shares more similarity to a dungeon crawler – it is a dual stick shooter in actuality and a game designed largely for co-op play. I played with my brother and had a lot of fun.

There were times when the controls let me down in terms of making accurate jumps across the fixed perspective isometric map, but the problem solving elements were a good (if at times frustrating) challenge.

The disturbing part for me was reaching the end of any given level to see the target time to complete the level would be 5 minutes and the times my brother and I were clocking in were closer to an hour! I suppose it’s designed for a bit of replay – or for people who don’t suck as much as we do.
