I’m a fan of the comic strip, but the conversion to a video game just didn’t work for me. The game is retro in many ways, both thematically and in it’s gameplay. Unfortunately the bizarre old school style just feels like it’s 15 years too late rather than having some kind of nostalgic appeal. With strange elements such as a turn based combat system that has each battle rolling a 20 sided dice for “initiative”, this game seems like an experiment for Penny Arcade, but unfortunately one that failed. Thankfully a short game due to it’s episodic nature; I won’t be playing the next episode.
