Life of Pi by Yann Martel

I just finished this Booker Prize winning novel that Louise recommended to me about an Indian kid who survives at sea in a life boat with a Bengal tiger for 7 months. If it sounds like a weird premise for a book, you’d be right. I liked the book, it was written well and was quite an engrossing narrative, but when I put the book down, I thought to myself, what the hell??

Thematically it is first and foremost about spirituality, the book claims that it is a story that will make you believe in God. I wouldn’t go that far, but I would say it’s worth reading if the opportunity presents itself. Definite Book Club fodder because it will leave you wanting to talk to someone about it and figure out exactly what the hell is going on.
